La Coalición de Agua y Clima, con la participación de FAN Global, ha desarrollado desarrolló una serie de posturas para las negociaciones por el cambio climático en Doha. Dada la importancia del cambio del agua en el cambio climático, los diferentes órganos de la Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre Cambio Climático necesitan abordar de manera urgente el papel del agua para asegurarun futuro sustentable.

Primer taller técnico sobre agua y cambio climático de la UNFCCC en la ciudad de México
Del 18 al 20 de julio se realizó en la ciudad de México el taller técnico sobre agua del Programa de Trabajo de Nairobi organizado por la secretaría de la Convención Marco sobre el Cambio Climático de las Naciones Unidas (UNFCCC) y CONAGUA. Este taller surge, entre otros factores, gracias al trabajo de cabildeo realizado por miembros de FAN y otras organizaciones pertenecientes a la Coalición de Agua y Clima en la COP16 en Cancún para incluir el agua en la agenda de cambio climático, así como CONAGUA. En consecuencia, la COP17 solicitó a la secretaría organizar un taller técnico sobre agua e impactos por el cambio climático y estrategias de adaptación bajo el Programa de Trabajo de Nairobi.
First UNFCCC technical workshop on water and climate change impacts and adaptation strategies , held in Mexico city
I was very happy to participate in the UNFCCC technical workshop on water and climate change on 18-20 July 2012. The workshop resulted from the lobbying work myself and my colleagues carried out at COP16 in Cancun when FAN worked with the Water and Climate Coalition to get water included in the climate change agenda.

A first timer's view of the UN Climate Change talks
Today was my 'first' for numerous circumstances. My first time in a climate change negotiations; my first day in the ongoing UNFCCC's Bonn Climate Change Talks; my first occasion of interaction with Karin Lexen and Karin Glaumann of Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI); and of course first day at Bonn in the open.
Exploring paths to push water in the entire climate change discourse
The second day for me at the UNFCCC's Bonn Climate Change Talks was a mixed bag of experiences. The day started with a quick morning meeting and ended with a summary meeting with Karin Lexen and Karin Glaumann of Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). This arrangement seems to be working well because it not only helps in planning the day but also creates space for clarifying doubts and in strategizing plans and actions for the following day.
