In June 2013, FANSA supported a team of Pakistani journalists to visit a number of WASH interventions in Nepal as part of its Young Media Fellowship programme. The activity aimed to help drive a sanitation campaign in Pakistan which is calling on the government to be accountable about their roles in improving the sector, extend their support for a better WASH sector in Pakistan.
24 July 2013 – In a bid to make sanitation for all a global development priority, the United Nations General Assembly today designated 19 November as World Toilet Day, urging changes in both behaviour and policy on issues ranging from enhancing water management to ending open-air defecation.
In March 2013, FAN Latin American networks: FANAS, FANCA and FANMex, along with other organizations organised the Community Water and Sanitation Management Fair “Nuestra Agua 2013”. Six technical middle schools in rural and peri-urban areas in the Mexican state of Morelos will have clean water and decentralized sanitation systems thanks to the SWASH project done by Sarar Transformación, SC, TAO de Tepoztlan, AC and FANMex.
