Call for civil society input to UN thematic consultation on water

Following a wide consultation, the Beyond2015 drafting team led by Freshwater Action Network, End Water Poverty and WASH United have created a draft of the Beyond2015 civil society position paper for the UN thematic consultation on water. Read the draft and send in your comments by close of business on Thursday 7 February 2013.

The paper is short and includes sections on: WASH; IWRM, freshwater ecosystems and climate change adaptation; waste water and water quality; governance and human rights; equality and a common future framework for water, followed by some recommendations. It is eight pages long and you can comment on all or any part of the document. This is the CSO paper that will go right through to the September 2013 UN post MDG processes so if there is something vital missing here, do not let it pass and then later regret that something critical is not reflected in the paper!  The paper remains high level and focused on the global level so it does not include country or region specific recommendations at this stage.

The drafting team welcome comments in the form of tracked changes to the document. Please include sources when making suggestions, and provide the full name of any report you reference.

Please send your comments directly to Hannah, Jennifer and Mary by COB on 7 February 2013.
